Although he was nominated 3 months ago as a Director at the National Company of Navigable Channels SA Constanta, Mr. Ovidiu Sorin Cupsa broke out some initiatives that might give a propulsion to the tourism on Danube-Black Sea Channel area, despite all disbelievers. What the young director thought and also what he proposed, might gain structure in a short period of time if the reply and support of the authorities would be prompt. The tourism must be a target also for the authorities, because through the appearance of new jobs, a lot of social problems can be solved.
Private touristic seaports
- Mr. Cupsa, is it true that you intended to show your muscles, by requesting even from the first days, an activity analyze from the company?
- I only requested this analyze because I wanted to be aware of the week and strong points, also to know from where should I begin a task in order to set my priorities. As an example, I discovered that the potential of this channel is not used at his high rates in interest of tourism, and that became for me at this moment, a priority.
- What else did this analyze revealed?
- I’ve identified some chances that are worthy of a proper attention. There are a lot of opportunities and it would really be a pity not to exploit them.
Conclusion: on the Danube-Black Sea channel tourism can be made, and also a very high leveled one. Further, other income sources might appear, not only for investors but also for locals. The cannel is actually a wonder of technique, a jewel, and if I am not mistaking, the biggest channel in the world for internal waters. It has a 200 kilometers length and it’s such a waste knowing that the shores are bare, when there are a lot of facilities surrounding the localities near to the channel. Even on the shores, new investments might gather the locals, by creating new working places, solving in this manner an essential problem: people won’t have to make a daily travel just to earn their bread.
